To help clients secure quality care for the least possible cost and as quickly and easily as practicable.
To ensure that people understand the options available to them and to proactively encourage people and their families to put in place the actions necessary to afford quality care in the future should they require it.
If you are worried about the care of an older relative Emer can help you
Emer listens to your story with particular attention to personal, emotional and financial considerations. She advocates for the care needs of the older person and helps you consider the steps to take to ensure provision of care. The dignity, respect and independence of your relative should be paramount.
Emer offers the following services:
1) Family Care – an opportunity to discuss who is available in the family to help, who needs to be consulted and who is likely to take on the main caring role and the effect that this will have on the life of their carer and their immediate family and any complications that may arise.
2) Homecare – advice about liasing with public health nurses, physiotherapists and the HSE to see if a HSE package can be obtained. It is anticipated that the new programme for Government will put homecare on a statutory footing and Emer can keep you informed about new rules. Emer can provide information about private homecare services and questions to ask when speaking with Homecare organisations.
3) Medical Care – Emer makes suggestions about questions to ask the medical team caring for your relative. Emer can arrange to make a living will so that the person’s wishes are respected should their health deteriorate in the future. This is in line with the provisions of the Assisted Decision Making (Capacity) Act 2015, due to commence in the near future.
4) Nursing Home Care – Before you submit an application to the Nursing Home Support Office of the HSE Emer will consider the financial situation of the older person and advise on the terms of the Fair Deal Scheme. She can also assist in clarifying any queries raised by the HSE.
Emer emphasises that the earlier you seek advice, the better for your own peace of mind and your finances.
This is a fee paying service and the advice given is specifically tailored to your circumstances
If you are concerned about family assets being swallowed up, we advise you get in touch with Emer.
Rest-assured you will receive a flexible, trustworthy and reliable service.
