Covid Vaccines

My mother in law, who lives in Northern Ireland was fortunate enough to receive the Pfizer covid vaccine dose 1 in January 2021 and dose 2 in February.   My  parents got the Astra Zeneca jab between February and May 2021.

It is great that the 50-59 year old age group will be vaccinated next.  I fall into this category since it was my 50th birthday two weeks ago.  There has been a lot of upset and confusion in Ireland with the potential risk of blood clots caused by the AZ vaccine and possibly the Janssen vaccine also.

I hope that the Irish Government succeed in delivering the vaccine to the majority of the population asap.  This should become achievable once the European Union licenses the Oxford Astra Zeneca vaccine.  This vaccine is going to be easier to distribute because it does not need to be kept at such low temperatures.  I hope to be able to get the vaccine from my local pharmacist before the end of the summer.

At least at this stage the majority of older people will have been vaccinated.  The Government has prioritised older people and that is something to be thankful for.
